> There are people whose calling is to play the game of power. Most of us, however, are kings and queens in small domains: we head families, teams, or volunteer organizations. I want to know how a good sovereign operates in the modern world. How do you establish, grow, and protect your sovereignty? How do you deal with other sovereigns, both good and bad ones? What's the playbook of a good king or queen? Can we build it by inverting slightly sociopathic playbooks like Robert Greene's The 48 Laws of Power? This would be an interesting future exploration.

As king of a small domain (company of one), I’m interested in this question as well

Where else have you explored this more deeply?

I’ll explore this in an upcoming post. I found what I was looking for just a month ago. It is a newly published book entitled Chivalry: An Ideal whose time has come again. What’s missing though is the kingly ability of collaborating with psychofauna. In our case, this is Free Enterprise. I also sense that it could benefit from a crossover with Taleb’s Incerto.

I’m in the middle of a reset in my own life (in my early 40s). So, there are a bunch of things I’m re-evaluating.

The below is not a criticism of what you write, this is more of me thinking out loud and questioning myself.

I have read plenty of philosophy stuff. And I have wondered whether my tendency to engage Big Ideas Often With Capitalized Words is hindering me in my next phase.

I like what you wrote in the Triangulations series 123 and even went out to buy your book, “How to turn ideas into reality”. Just started the book and just finished the part where you started Project Accessible Genomics.

But I still cannot help that small little voice at back of my head warning me not to end up spending too much time on “high falutin’ ideas” without concrete actions.

That voice is trying to protect me, so I will keep the concerns in mind while gathering more info.

I look forward to your upcoming post then.

I'd love to hop on a call if you're game. I'm interested in writing for specific problems. Not sure if my book or Triangulations or my upcoming posts would help in something as fundamental as a reset, but I went through something similar in the past few years and might be able to share some things that helped me.
